Why Create Astherus ？

Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) restaking is a 20 billion dollar market which continues to grow rapidly. The act of restaking allows blockchain validators to deposit their tokens or liquid staking tokens (LST) onto platforms to earn APR rewards and secure the network. However, most restaking protocols in the market fail to consider this question: What utility do restaked assets have?

Totaling near $46 billion TVL on-chain, LSTs need more yield opportunities and utility. With Astherus, these assets are no longer just proof of deposits touted as “maximum capital efficiency”. Deploy them throughout the Astherus ecosystem for a multitude of use cases.

Astherus is the liquidity hub for LSTs/LRTs. By imparting utility to staked assets, we can expand the scale of asset utilization and maximise user profitability. In the future, Astherus will be a Layer-1 protocol enabling Proof of Multiassets Staking (POMS). Leveraging Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) Protocol, Astherus will seamlessly connect Ethereum, BNB Chain, Cosmos, and Solana, integrating IBC with EVM compatibility. The protocol consists of 3 modular layers:

dApp Layer - dApps on Astherus provide utility for restaked assets and generate restaking rewards. Native dApps include AstherEx (a decentralized exchange allowing LST/LRT assets to be used as collateral) and AstherEarn (an earn strategy aggregation platform). These dApps will be deployed on multiple blockchains as well.

Defi Infrastructure Layer - This infrastructure module aggregates liquidity from multiple LST & LRT pools. It provides the foundation for Astherus to expand restaked assets utility — establishing a stablecoin & spot yield aggregation protocol and building an innovative derivatives clearinghouse. The module also allows developers to conveniently build LST-based DApps to grow the Astherus ecosystem.

L1 Chain - AstherLayer will be a Layer-1 blockchain focused on DeFi, supporting multi-assets staking and enabling $BNB as gas fees. More details about AstherLayer will be shared in future.
